Joseph Quinn and Luna Carmoon on Hoard | BFI Q&A

BFI

Writer-director Luna Carmoon and actor Joseph Quinn visit BFI Southbank to talk about Carmoon’s debut feature, in which a young woman journeys through childhood trauma and emerging sexuality.

Young Maria lives with her eccentric mother in a home full of rising piles of rubbish. One tragic day, they are forcibly separated. As an adult, Maria tries to connect with the memory of her mother in unusual ways. Luna Carmoon’s unconventional and wonderfully strange coming-of-age drama, exploring how childhood trauma can seep into adulthood, is one of the best British films of the year.
