Lucky Jordan is a 1942 film directed by Frank Tuttle and starring Alan Ladd in his first leading role, Helen Walker in her film debut and Sheldon Leonard. The screenplay concerns a self-centered gangster who tangles with Nazi spies.

Plot
Lucky Jordan (Alan Ladd) is gangster living in New York City. When he’s drafted into the army, he tries to escape duty by using an old con woman named Annie (Mabel Paige) to convince the draft board he’s needed at home. When that fails, Jordan is sent to boot camp, but he doesn’t stay long. He takes a beautiful USO worker (Helen Walker) hostage and flees back to New York. There, he learns that a rival gangster (Sheldon Leonard) is plotting against America.
