Why You Won’t Find Reviews on It’s All Entertainment

It's All Entertainment

Every now and then, someone asks why I don’t write reviews. It’s a fair question—Movies, TV & Streaming are a huge part of culture, and they often spark conversations worth having. But if you’ve spent any time on this blog, you’ll know that I tend to steer clear of reviewing films, shows, or anything that might fall into that category. And there’s a reason for that.

I want people to make up their own minds.

There’s something about the experience of watching a film—unfiltered, with no expectations or analysis hanging over your head—that I think is incredibly valuable. The moment you read someone’s take on a movie, especially if it’s strong or persuasive, it can color your entire viewing experience. You start looking for the things they noticed, reacting to the scenes the way they said you should. It’s not wrong, but it’s not yours anymore.

That’s not what I want to encourage here.

This blog is about exploring ideas, asking questions, and thinking for yourself. It’s not about telling you what’s good or bad, what deserves your time or doesn’t. I’d rather spark curiosity than settle scores. Film is art, and art is meant to be experienced, interpreted, and sometimes even misunderstood—all on your own terms.

That’s not to say I don’t have opinions—I do, lots of them—but I don’t see value in packaging them up as reviews. I’m more interested in how a film made you feel, what it reminded you of, how it challenged or comforted you. Those are the conversations I care about.

So, if you came here looking for star ratings or spoiler-laden thinkpieces, you won’t find them. But if you want to talk about how something moved you, confused you, or made you see the world a little differently, I’m all ears.

In the end, I trust you to make up your own mind. And I think that’s more important than any review I could write.
