Channel 4’s feature film division, Film4, today receives a record-breaking 30 nominations at the 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards including Best Film, Outstanding British Film and Best Director, with the ceremony taking place on Sunday 18th February at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The five Film4-backed films nominated are Yorgos Lanthimos’ POOR THINGS, Jonathan Glazer’s THE ZONE OF INTEREST. Andrew Haigh’s ALL OF US STRANGERS, Molly Manning-Walkers HOW TO HAVE SEX and Savanah Leaf’s EARTH MAMA.

The hugely successful showing follows a run of recent accolades including a record ten Film4-backed films premiere at London Film Festival including POOR THINGSALL OF US STRANGERSTHE ZONE OF INTEREST and Closing Night film THE KITCHEN, the Grand Prix (THE ZONE OF INTEREST) and Un Certain Regard (HOW TO HAVE SEX) at Cannes and the top prize at Venice, the Golden Lion (POOR THINGS).  Film4 backed films also won 14 British Independent Film Awards in December including Best British Independent Film for ALL OF US STRANGERS, and 2 Golden Globes for POOR THINGS, Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress Emma Stone.
