First Three Hosts Of Snl Uk Announced

Saturday Night Live UK today announces that Tina Fey, celebrated for her era defining years as head writer and cast member on the US version, will host the launch episode of SNL UK on 21 March. Tina will be joined by a chart-topping musical guest, Isle of Wight indie sensations Wet Leg.

On 28 March, critically acclaimed Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan (Belfast) will be joined by the BRIT Award-winning band Wolf Alice. On 4 April, Academy award-winning British actor Riz Ahmed (Bait, Hamlet) will be joined by titans of rock Kasabian.

Live from London at 10pm every Saturday night, each 75-minute episode, will see a different host take to the stage alongside SNL UK’s inaugural cast: Hammed AnimashaunAyoade BamgboyeLarry DeanCeleste DringGeorge Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel MarlowAl NashJack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.

Broadcast live each week, this brand new British version brings the highwire, anything can happen energy audiences expect from SNL — reimagined through a distinctly British lens.

Written, rehearsed and performed in the week of broadcast, preserving SNL’s famously fast turn around creative process. Each show is staged in front of a live studio audience, every episode features an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music, and a UK adaptation of SNL’s iconic satirical news segment, Weekend Update.

Together, this first wave of hosts, musical guests and cast members marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for the globally acclaimed SNL franchise — blending its storied legacy with a fresh generation of British comedy voices.

SNL UK is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team and Broadway Video for Sky and NOW. Lorne Michaels is executive producing, James Longman will serve as Lead Producer, Liz Clare as Director and Daran Jonno Johnson takes on the role of Head Writer. UTAS UK Productions is overseen by Managing Director Helen Kruger Bratt. Shanna Baynard will serve as Executive in Charge of Production; Andy Charles Smith is the Lead Producer for UTAS UK Productions alongside Sam Salter, Production Executive.
