Peccadillo Pictures prepare a queer quartet of new releases in cinemas this Spring. From backstage passion and toxic relationships to emotional abuse and outer space adventures, the spotlight falls on international filmmakers from Brazil, France, Australia and the UK.

NIGHT STAGE (Brazil, 2025, 119 mins)

United by their shared fetish for alfresco fornication, an emerging theatre actor and a high-profile campaigning politician embark on a risky affair that threatens to destroy both of their dreams of success.

Blending cinematic references with moments of bracing originality, writer-directors Marcio Reolon and Filipe Matzembacher’s Night Stage is a dark erotic thriller that channels Paul Schrader and Brian De Palma at their most lurid.

The latest comedy-drama from Manchester-based Lloyd Eyre-Morgan and Neil Ely.

Benji is navigating the ups and downs of relationships with men as he learns to truly love himself. We start at the very end, where Benji is getting dumped by Jake after “an intense two years of secret monthly Amsterdam getaways”

Creators of the working-class LGBTQ+ Collective, Departures shares the frenetic energy of Trainspotting and Human Traffic. Lloyd Eyre-Morgan takes the lead, alongside a cast that includes David Tag (Hollyoaks), Tyler Conti (Hollyoaks, The Gentlemen), Liam Boyle (TV’s Robin HoodLand Girls), Kimberly Hart-Simpson (Coronation Street), Ali Afzal (Unicorns) and Lorraine Stanley (Eastenders).

Eyre-Morgan’s TV work includes EastEnders, Waterloo Road and short film Closets, whilst Ely has made Mirrors and recently completed feature Chatlines. They have collaborated on a number of projects including co-directing highly acclaimed short S.A.M.

LOVE ME TENDER (France, 2025, 133 mins )

At the end of summer, Clémence tells her ex-husband that she’s had relationships with women. Her life is turned upside down when he files to strip her custody of their son. Then begins a struggle of several years for Clémence to defend her right to be a mother and a woman–free to make her own choices.

Director Anna Cazenave Cambet (Gold for Dogs), crafts a confident, complex and deeply affecting drama about the insidious violence of moral order towards women. Loosely based on the novel, Love Me Tender, written by Constance Debré © Editions Flammarion 2020, it stars Vicky Krieps (CorsagePhantom Thread), Antoine Reinartz (Anatomy of a Fall120 BPM) and Monia Chokri (The Nature of LoveHeartbeats).

Love Me Tender was nominated for Un Certain Regard Award and Queer Palm Awards at Cannes Film Fest 2025.

LESBIAN SPACE PRINCESS (Australia, 2025, 86 mins)

It’s party time on Clitopolis, a planet inhabited exclusively by lesbians. For Princess Saira though, it’s not always fun and after the break-up with her latest girlfriend Kiki The Destroyer, she finds herself having to rescue her from the devious Straight White Maliens.

Multiple award-winning Lesbian Space Princess is a mad-cap animated adult queer comedy, written and directed by Emma Hough Hughes and Leela Varghese. The cast has the voice talents of Shabana Azeez (Metro Sexual), Gemma Chua-Tran (Heartbreak High), and Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge). 

Winner of the Teddy Award and a recent Nominee for seven Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award.
