For Michael Keaton, the one-time Oscar-nominee’s return as the Dark Knight in The Flash was emotional.
Speaking to Vanity Fair about the multiverse-themed DC Comics adaptation, The Flash director Andy Muschietti and his sister producer Barbara recalled Keaton getting caught up in some moments during production as he reprised his superstar-making role as Batman. One instance involved Keaton sharing time on set with his grandson when he donned the cape and cowl for the first time in over 30 years. “The first scene that we shoot, where he’s wearing the full suit, he’s like, ‘Can you take a picture? It’s for my grandson. It filled me with [shivers]…I have goosebumps right now,” Andy recalled. “Basically he got to show his tiny grandkid that he was Batman. It was truly amazing,” Barbara said…
