We Still Kill The Old Way

Radiance are providing some rare insight into the 60’s output of Elio Petri, perhaps best known for The Tenth Victim, as an assassination game movie widely seen as a predecessor of Running Man and Hunger Games. Anything but a one-trick pony, Petri’s work is far too diverse to be summed up by any single film, and while Victim is funky, funny and modish, We Still Kill The Old Way is as dour, serious and old-school as the title suggests. That’s a good thing, because the subject is revenge, and the tone is downbeat and cynical; this is a crime movie, but one in which there’s not much chance for a happy resolution…..
